Gemma is a professional trained artist offering a relaxed and friendly atmospher - A Birmingham based Make-up and hair artist also covering nationwide and international areas on request.... with almost 20 years experience in the make up industry. Trained by Greasepaint International School of Make up in London - working in all areas of make up - TV, Film, Theatre, Commercial and Bridal hair and make-up. Since relocating back to the Midlands Gemma also owns her own Hair Salon and Make -up Studio named Salon-G in Bearwood, Birmingham. Bridal trials take place at Salon-G and on your wedding day Gemma comes to where ever you need her to be on the day.

My proudest moment is when I leave the bride on her wedding day and seeing that look in her eye that she feels and looks the best she ever will.

Get your suppliers booked early and get plenty of research and images to create a mood board for your perfect day.

Describe your typical process with a couple.
When I first meet a client it is usually at my Salon for the trial I talk to the client about her expectations of what look she would like to achieve for her hair and make -up. I ask my clients to bring clippings from magazines or photo's of looks or ideas they like. This helps me create the overall look for both hair and make-up. Once the bride is happy with what we have created I take photos and notes for reference so I can recreate the look on the day.
On the wedding day I arrive at the venue giving myself plenty of time to recreate the look we decided on at the trial for the bride and of course any bridesmaids or other members of the wedding party i am working with.

Making Brides feel their best.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Maintaining a good skincare regime for a head start to a good look.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
I use my experience to keep the bride and her party calm... I like to create a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
I love Bobbi Brown blot papers to take away any shine throughout the day.
