We first decided to approach Matt because we very much liked the photos from our friends' wedding. And it was the right decision! I've never met such a passionate , geeky (in a good way) and amicable photographer. On the day, it was all perfect. Matt captured the big and small moments candidly without us even noticing. And when it came to staged photos, despite our worries about not being 'good posers', Matt made us feel at ease and the whole process was much fun. Importantly, Matt was able to capture the real us! Last but not least, the amount of diverse cameras present on the day was staggering! :) So if you know (or don't know) what style of photos you want, Matt is the right man to discuss it all with - he will tell you everything about each camera's specifics and peculiarities.

My fiance and I first approached Matt 2 years before our wedding, mostly because we wanted a photographer who worked with both film and digital. To ensure we were happy with his photography style, we booked Matt for an engagement shoot and we booked him for our wedding as soon as we saw his images, they were great! Two years passed between our engagement shoot and our wedding day and during that time our taste in photography changed quite significantly. At first we were concerned that Matt would no longer be able to provide the style of image that we wanted, but after exchanging emails with Matt he quickly put us at ease. Taking images from both his own website and those from our venue's recommended suppliers, I provided Matt with a list of images that my fiance and I really liked / disliked. Using this list, Matt was able to determine what equipment he should use on the day to capture our prefered style. Furthermore, we arranged for a practice shoot at our venue so that we could discuss locations, backdrops, poses, group photos and generally familiarise ourselves with the how we wanted the day to run. This practice day proved to be the best pre-wedding decision we made! The images Matt captured immediately put us at ease as they were exactly what we had asked for. Spending the morning with Matt also helped us to get to know him better, it helped us get used to posing and it meant we had a much better idea of what we would be doing on our actual wedding day. When the day itself came, my wife and I felt really relaxed with Matt and the whole day was so much more fun and comfortable than we ever expected it would be. To summarise... Matt was an absolute star to work with. The more you talk to him and tell him what you want, the better the results you'll get from him. He has so many cameras and lenses and so much experience that he will be able to deliver whatever you ask of him. If you book Matt, you will not be disappointed!

Like most things in life, a generic term such as 'wedding photographer' encompasses a range of abilities. I first saw Matt Osbourne's photography on several photographic forums and only latterly realised that he shot weddings too. If what you want first and foremost, as I did when he shot my wedding, to capture your special day in a way and style that is as individual, humorous and unpretentious as Matt then he is definitely your man. In years to come his work will be referred to by students of portrait photography as emblematic of our age but for now he is a pleasant, approachable, innovative and inappropriately-affordable wedding photographer. I have three daughters and when they get engaged the first thing that I will do is to check if Matt is available to photograph their weddings. He's that good.

Matt blends into the background and captures all those special moments throughout the day, and all the moments you miss as bride and groom when you are busy elsewhere. We loved his style and creative ideas, which gave us photos with an added wow factor. He listens to what you want and adapts his approach to meet your requests. Would highly recommend Matt's wedding photography.
