Russell Lewis Photography Full Description
Russell Lewis is a Herefordshire based Wedding Photographer with a BA(hons) in photography and is an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society. Russell opened and ran a busy professional photography lab for six years before focusing purely on Wedding and Portrait photography in 2006. His work has featured in numerous publications throughout the UK and he travels both nationally and internationally to cover weddings for clients. ‘Photography for me is about capturing fleeting moments; the look in someone's eye, the expression on their face or the beauty in a scene. Exploring weddings with this passion has enabled me to develop a very personal and unique portfolio. My work is very much based on observation, in a world that often misses the finer details.’

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

The first wedding I ever covered for someone I didn't know. I was a nervous wreck and ran on adrenaline all day.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Observational, natural, personal, heartfelt, timeless

What about your business are you most proud of?

The fact that I cover so many weddings for people who know one another. I covered a wedding a few years ago where out of 80 guests I'd photographed 7 couples' weddings, that's a wonderful feeling.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Forget the big fancy venues and keep things personal

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Pennies as favours with a request that each guest throws their penny into the well in the corner of the room and makes a wish for the bride and groom.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I prefer very much to respond to situations on the day and so other than verifying timings and group photo requirements there's very little more to do before the wedding day itself.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

Confetti shots!

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

By original I take it you don't mean good!? Probably a shot where it looks as though the bride standing in the groom's hands like the kind of shot where people look like they're holding up the leaning tower of Pisa!

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Umbrellas!

Describe how you got into photography.

I always have been, my father worked for Kodak and I studied photography at University
