Sharon was so personable, approachable and nerve calming throughout our wedding day. She is clearly hugely creative and has a phenomenal knack of putting you and your guests at ease.
At one point, a car stood between Sharon and her subjects, all grinning from ear to ear with anticipation as we had some group shots taken. Rather than tracking down the owner of the car and pointing out that they’d perhaps parked in the worst possible place, Sharon crouched in front of, lent around, and tip-toed over the offending car, she even used the reflections in the car roof to get us some brilliantly unique shots. Also, while Sharon was performing this great feat of camera limbo, she managed to keep the attention of a few rather restless toddlers and get them in the frame too!
Sharon's biggest talent is for seeking out what’s special, unique and personal about your wedding, an event you have probably spent an age planning only for it to be over all too soon. The pictures we will really treasure are those where Sharon has captured the little personal details as well as the huge sense of fun that we felt on the day. Part of what makes this possible is that Sharon asks you all the right questions about you and your day before hand, so that by the time the wedding day comes Sharon knows who your VIPs are, that bride's Auntie knitted her cape, and that the groom's Mum made the mistletoe and sprout button holes.
We really benefited from Sharon's experience and flexibility, without her we might have missed out on some of our favourite images of the two of us, taken outside in the last of the winter light just before the ceremony (controversial). Whether its luck, ninja stealth or an eye for a good photo Sharon has an exceptional skill for using the environment and capturing the moment: the two of us by the canal with two swans that just happened to be passing through; the bride in fits of laughter with her best friend; the groom looking adoringly... at the best man; the bride showing off her dress with the help of a fan come wind machine.
It is also worth mentioning Sharon's professionalism and speed after the event. Within a few days, 20 edited and varied photos were shared on Facebook to remind us and our guests of how much fun it had been. It was then a stress free wait for the full 500+ photos.
We had a fantastic wedding and Sharon has gifted us with permanent reminders of a great day. We would not hesitate to recommend Sharon to others looking for reportage style photography from a personable and skilled professional.
In summary, Sharon said to us beforehand ‘Trust Me’ - we did - and it all turned out brilliantly!
