What is your most memorable wedding?
All of the weddings have been incredible, but my most memorable may be my first bespoke stationery request. Everything was custom to the bride and groom- the floral illustrations represented the countries they were from, they had a custom illustrated crest, wax seals and sent the invitations in luxury boxes. I loved how the invitations were all about the couple- and I've been creating and designing bespoke invitations ever since!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
thoughtful, artistic, tactile, refined, beautiful
What about your business are you most proud of?
I'm proud that I design all of my couples' stationery and letterpress print in house.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
The marriage is more important than anything or any part of the wedding itself. Nurture and prioritise your relationship- everything else will fall into place.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We usually have a chat about stationery and gush over how important paper is. :) I have every client fill out a questionnaire and then we schedule a consultation just to go over all the details and ideas each client may have. I then go away and design two different concepts which include mood boards and an invitation mock up. The couple will then decide on one concept to move forward with. This is to make sure that we are all on the same page. Once the concept is chosen, I will then design all the stationery pieces. Once that's approved- it hits the press literally! I print all letterpress in-house on my vintage printing presses.
What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?
The invitation suite as a whole. Practically, it needs to be informative and give your guests everything they need to know, but when designed right it has the potential to do so much more. Guests can 'see' the couple in the design, they should be able to tell the mood and expectation of the wedding day and most importantly, I hope they feel excited. I hope the invitation gives a sense of giddiness about what is to come.
What is your best seller?
Every thing I sell is specially made for each client.
How do you add romance to any wedding stationery you do?
Bespoke designs by nature are romantic because the design itself tells something of the bride and groom to be.
