High House has the following spaces which are available exclusively to our couples on their wedding day; • Bridal dressing room – our brides arrive to start getting ready in a truly luxurious setting. Overlooking the swimming pool, our dressing room is set within an oak framed orangery luxuriously furnished with comfortable sofas, dressing tables and of course a changing room and generous en-suite. • Choice of 2 spaces for civil ceremony; - Thatched gazebo in the gardens for our couples who wish to marry outside. - Our beautiful restored Grade II listed Essex barn dates back to 1750 and has been lovingly restored. The barn retains its wonderful character with rustic oak beams and exposed red brick. • Monet inspired bridge over our pond leading to our patio area, complete with rustic stable bar for reception drinks (and very cute original Fiat 500 which is always a talking point for guests!) • Grounds - over six acres of grounds in total are available for guests to wander through, admire the pretty English country gardens, orchard and enjoy lawn games which are set out for couples if they wish • Own vineyard on site • Our beautiful marquee - with views to the lake (spectacular at sunset!) which can be viewed from our decking, the highly impressive space wows guests. Benefiting from a dance floor reveal (the party is hidden away until the evening during the couple’s first dance when the reveal is lifted as a surprise), twinkling star-cloth lining, stage, and black and white dance floor, couples can be sure of an amazing party atmosphere. • Brides cottage - a secluded retreat tucked away within its own secret garden. Offering a sumptuous bedroom with freestanding bath and en-suite, cosy lounge and kitchen, this is the perfect place for escape and privacy for a bride and groom on their wedding night. • Guests Lodge - Offering the same luxurious finish and amenities as our bridal cottage, the detached guest lodge offers an additional two en-suite bedrooms.

At High House we ensure there are no hidden costs for couples when booking their wedding here by having 'extras' they need to add to make their day perfect. Even with rain our day was perfect

We booked our wedding 2.5yrs in advance to get the wedding date we wanted, Jean was our event manager who was amazing and went over and above what was expected. Even with the weather turning to rain it was an amazing day and everything ran on time

Everything exceeded expectation!

We couldn't have asked for a better venue for our sons wedding on July 26th. We had a wonderful day - everything went perfectly. High House is stunning with beautifully kept gardens, Valentines served amazing canapes and a fabulous meal (BBQ option). Everyone commented on how good it was. Every detail was taken care of so that all we had to do was enjoy the day. Everything exceeded expectation!

A beautiful venue staff great food the best I have had at a wedding The only disappointment is having their DJ what a miserable man and did not cater for the different age groups .He is letting the venue down .

High House is an amazing venue that is perfect for any wedding day from the first time you meet them you know that they really care about making sure you have a perfect day by including sweet carts,garden games,djs in the package you really don't need to worry about anything. The venue itself is picturesque with the breathtaking original barns and beautiful lakes and amazing floristry and gardens it really is beautiful. The fact that it is family run only adds to how amazing it is. I loved it!

I had my dream wedding at High House...

I had my dream wedding at High House. Jean was our event coordinator. She is the most lovely, friendly, helpful person, and most importantly she's incredible in her role, everything was managed so well on the day. The team at High House really goes the extra miles for their customers. I love the way they are so passionate with what they are do and always have their customers best interests. All my guests will agreed with me this is the best wedding venue in Essex and they really deserve to win!

We would never want to choose just one as we have had so many amazing weddings here and all are so different!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Think about what you want for your day and not what you 'think' you should have. We really encourage our couples to think about what they love and enjoy and make those things part of their day. Lots of couples think their day should include something because it is what's expected at a wedding but they personally don't like it, it's their day and no one else's. We think this is why our weddings are so diverse and makes it so interesting for us.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

One of our brides had sadly lost her dad not long before her wedding day. She wanted to have something here that would remind her of her dad throughout the day. He loved fishing so she set up a chair and fishing rod next to our pond which overlooks our reception drinks space. It was a lovely touch to remember her dad.
