Kimbolton Castle

We were looked after magnificently. The staff were so helpful, the food was great and (not surprisingly) the venue looked utterly beautiful. We had a small wedding in Norfolk with a limited reception as we were students. The 50th wedding anniversary was, in my wife's words 'the wedding I always really wanted' - she just had to put up with me for 50 years to get it!

We were married at Kimbolton Castle last summer and it was a day we will never forget. It is a very special and unique place- especially in the sunshine. The State Room doors were opened wide and our guests spilled out into the courtyard and down the Mall, exploring the grounds and enjoying the entire estate. Many selfies were taken! The building is lovely, but the staff made the day- in the build-up, they planned with us and patiently reassured us; I swear they could read our minds and knew exactly how to make the day our idiosyncratic version of Perfect. We quickly realised we were in superb hands and on the day we could just relax with our friends and family in a surreal happiness that all our hopes had actually come true. We have memories of a very elegant, sunny, happy and unique day. And forevermore, we can always say we got married in a Castle!

I have always dreamed of being a princess for the day and my dream come true on my wedding day. I had the big princess dress, the castle and most importantly my Prince Charming! We shared our special day with everyone we love. We would do it all over again and would not change a thing. Soppiness aside, everyone at Kimbolton Castle made the whole experience stress free and enjoyable. Perfect venue for a perfect wedding. It wasn’t only us who loved it, all our guests told us how much they enjoyed it too.

Please will you pass on our thanks to the Headmaster, Mr Valletta and the catering staff for looking after the Banks and Peck family so very well on Saturday afternoon following the Service of Thanksgiving for my father Claude. My father would have been thrilled that the School were able to accommodated his wishes to host the ‘wake’ and it couldn’t have gone better; the food was delicious and the dining halls were the perfect venue with the sun shining through the glass frontage encouraging guests to stand outside and see the School in its best light.

I just wanted to thank you for everything on Saturday evening. The event totally met our expectation, or exceeded it, in every area. We thought everyone we came into contact with at the castle, both beforehand, and during the evening were very friendly, very helpful and totally accommodating to any minor changes. We enjoyed it immensely and got nothing but positive remarks from all of our guests. Thank you again, your assistance and management was much appreciated.
